Matters of the Heart

We can’t learn about Jesus without learning that it must lead to a changed life. Otherwise we’re not actually hearing the truth. In this lesson, we examine Ephesians 4 to see that what God has done for us in Jesus Christ needs to show up in our changed lives and hearts.

Mark 7:20-23 (ESV): And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Proverbs 4:23 (ESV): Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Sharing Spiritual & Material Blessings

We have been blessed both spiritually and materially. It is time for us to be a blessing both spiritually and materially. In this lesson, Brother Holloway shares definitions, explanations, and applications from Romans 15:27.

Romans 15:27 (ESV): For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.

Biblical Baptism

What is baptism? What is it for? Here is a look at what others say about it and what the Bible says about baptism.

1 Peter 3:18-22 (ESV): For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
