Blessed Be The Name Of The LORD

When things go bad in our lives, often the first relationship we drop is our relationship with God. But praise has a way of paralyzing the enemy. In this lesson, Brother Holloway defines the word, “blessed” and discusses how Job, in the midst of his suffering, blessed the name of the Lord through his actions and his attitude.

Job 1:20-22 (ESV): Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

When Our Lord Descends

Great things happen when our Lord descends, for it reveals His concern for His greatest creation, which is us.

Matthew 8:1-4 (ESV): When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”

The Non-Negotiables of Unity

Christians must be united and cannot compromise what is intended and thoroughly taught by the one Body, Spirit, Hope, Lord, Faith, Baptism, and God.

Ephesians 4:4-6 (ESV): There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Our Help Comes from The Lord

Psalm 121:1-8
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
