Christians must be united and cannot compromise what is intended and thoroughly taught by the one Body, Spirit, Hope, Lord, Faith, Baptism, and God.
Ephesians 4:4-6 (ESV): There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Brother Mark Dunagan discusses two possible world views concerning wisdom. We can either strive to attain the wisdom of this earth, that doesn’t factor God into decisions, or we can strive for the wisdom that comes from God.
James 3:13-14 (ESV): Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
A look at three rich men in Scripture: 1 – the rich young ruler (Mark 10:17-22), 2 – the rich fool (Luke 12:16-21), and 3 – the rich man with Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). What would they have to say to us? Would they praise us or rebuke us?
Jeremiah 9:23-24 (ESV): Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
