The Interaction of Jesus and the Leper

In the first chapter of Mark, we find the account of an interaction between Jesus and a leper who wanted to be healed. In this sermon, Brother Jeremy Betts examines the motivations and actions of both the leper and Jesus. The result of the interaction was healing and a fulfilled promise. Brother Betts shows us how, if we follow the leper’s example and turn to Jesus for relief, kneeling before Him in worship, prayer, and praise, He will have compassion on us and fulfill His promise to cleanse and heal us.

Mark 1:40-42 (ESV): And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, “If you will, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.
